Lisa & Tim’s Rustic Barn wedding at Rivington Hall Barn, near Bolton
I met Lisa & Tim about a year before their wedding at their home in Glossop which was just along the same road that I lived. A really sweet couple who were very much in love and so excited about their wedding along with some nerves.
They wanted a very rustic, relaxed and informal wedding and so for their photography reportage was very much the style that suited them. This was mirrored in the venue they chose Rivington Hall Barn, near Bolton in Lancashire, which is a very old barn that’s been converted into a civil ceremony venue. I knew this venue would have a lot of atmosphere and this would really come through in the wedding photography.
I was really excited on the day, the sun was shining and I was really looking forward to seeing how this venue would look. I had a second photographer so that I would make sure everything was covered, Annabelle focused on capturing what I may miss.
When the bridal car arrived I could feel my excitement to see how Lisa looked in her dress. It was beautiful, very fitted with a stunning broach as the central detail and I loved her shoes ~ Converse trainers in their yellow and navy blues theme colours.
She looked totally gorgeous and I could feel her nerves as she walked into the ceremony. I always love seeing that time when the groom first sees his bride, a very special moment.
The day was full and smooth and with the addition of great weather we were able to capture all the shots of the groups and the couple easily.
Lisa spent a great deal of time on the details of the wedding, she made the invitations as well as the seating plan and has created a “gone but not forgotten table” which had photos of their loved ones who had passed away a lovely touch.
Their wedding cake was fab, a big bright green caterpillar, which is probably the funniest wedding cake I’ve photographed, as well as an area for a DIY photo-booth with a camera and props, so I managed to get some funny pics of them both.
They had a fab band too, one which really got everyone up and dancing so I captured this right at the end of the time with them.
I loved editing and working on Lisa & Tim’s wedding photos, there were so many reasons that their pics were easy to work on. Their love is obvious and I think it really shines through in the photos of them both. They looked gorgeous as well as having a fantastic backdrop of the Barn itself which had that rustic atmosphere and the gardens with brilliant sunshine. All in all one of my favourite weddings in 2012!
