I love to get to know my couples by captured them together in an engagement shoot, this helps people to have the fun filled wedding they are planning. Some couples can be shy and introverted and so having a shoot beforehand is really helpful for them to get to know what to expect on their wedding day. I can also see what they are comfortable doing together on their shoot, so know on their wedding day how to get the best wedding photography for them.
I photographed Alex and Tom’s Engagement Shoot in July last year and realised what a young and sweet couple they are. They’re both quite shy as a couple but have their own lovely way with each other.
On the morning of the wedding day the weather looked slightly dubious, but I’m glad to say we had a dry day if a little chilly at times.
When I arrived at The White Hart I went straight to see Alex and she was a cool as a cucumber, relaxed and looking forward to the day! As always there were lots of folk coming and going through her room, getting things, bringing things. hairdressers, make-up artists, maid of honour, best woman, cute little page boys who were ring bearers, mother of the bride, father of the bride along with best friends were all present.
Alex and Tom’s wedding was quite traditional and they had lovely details that were personal to them, with a lucky dollar, horse shoes and a lucky sixpence in Alex’s wedding shoe. This wedding also had a classic feel with the pale yellow wedding flowers and white dress. It was unusual to have a best woman instead of a man, but these two friends go right back to when their mothers were friends when they were born so their bond is very strong. They finished their wedding photography off with a photo-booth which is always so much fun.
The White hart Inn was such a great venue. On a quick look you might by pass this by, as it’s understated and looks like a pub on the outside. When you walk in you can see its huge event space for weddings which is new, bright and well laid out. This venue doesn’t serve pub food either, they really know their stuff and provided us with gastronomically great food, my salmon was to die for! Shannon the wedding planner and her staff were sweet, friendly and went out of their way to make sure all the guests were happy so I’d highly recommend this as a wedding venue in Derbyshire.
This wedding was about people they love getting together, catching up, having fun, dancing and most of all about celebrating the love between Alex and Tom. I really felt humbled to be present and able to capture the sweet essence of their fun filled wedding.
