I really loved photographing Lorry and Andy’s stylish and fun filled wedding.
As I’m sure you can imagine, most of the weddings I do are couples who are getting married for the first time. When I do get the chance to photograph a couple who have been married before I jump at the chance.
Second weddings are often much more low key, smaller groups of people and there is a sense of people really going for exactly what they want rather than doing anything to keep others happy.
Lorry and Andy’s wedding was a hoot! This couple know how to have a good time. Their wedding venue was Didsbury House Hotel and is part of the Eclectic Hotel group in Manchester. These hotels have got the right combination of style, comfort, great food and lovely accommodating staff who really care.
I had an idea this wedding would be good fun when I met them at their home a few months before. They are a Glossop couple who live near the Longdendale Trail, an area of outstanding nature beauty. We all got on straight away when we met and I thought how much fun their wedding may be.
We were lucky on the day, the weather was dry, with bright blue skies. I arrived to photograph Lorry and her sister getting ready. These sisters really love each other and it shows through the photos.
Everyone seemed really excited at the start of the day, including me!
The ceremony was lovely, in a sweet room at the front of the hotel and many needed tissues! I photographed the group pics out the front of the hotel and that was really jolly. Then everyone made their way to the other hotel, 11 Didsbury Hotel, just along the road. I like taking walking pics of people, as they can come out really well.
The reception went with a swing and everyone seemed to have a great time chatting. The sit down meal was set under the folding roof, so it was partly outside but warm. I photographed the speeches which included a round of Bingo, especially for her mum!
This wedding will be remembered for its close family, lots of laughter and a beautiful setting.
